Cochrane Castle Primary School Pilot
The area of focus for this pilot has been to use the motivated schools approach to improve the quality of homework completed by children in the school. The specific aims and objectives of the pilot were:
· To raise achievement through increased parental involvement
· To raise awareness of the importance of homework
· To increase the number of pupils with a positive learning stance towards homework
· To examine the effect of learner stances on the quality of homework produced in p1/2 and p6
· To use classroom drivers in the programme to enhance the quality of homework
It is hoped that, due to higher motivation at home, the pupils involved will have a higher success rate with homework. The pilot will be evaluated using pupil statement analysis and a consideration of the reasons for any increase in pupil motivation.
